B Walk 08-Sep-2024 Leader: Angela Gibson
Distance (miles): 8.00   Ascent (feet): 662  Difficulty: Easy

Longshaw/Hathersage

Description:

This easy, scenic ‘B’ walk showcases the stunning landscapes of the Peak District. Our path takes us along the top of Froggatt, Curbar, and Baslow Edges, offering breath-taking views of the Derwent valley below. Coffee will be at the Wellington Monument with views towards Chatsworth. After exploring the Edges, we descend into the village of Curbar for lunch. Here there is a pub and café. This section of the walk is easier and provides a pleasant change of pace as we leave the heights behind. From Curbar we follow the path upstream along the River Derwent where we will enjoy the tranquil riverside environment. The path is flat and easy, perfect for a relaxing end to the walk. The journey concludes on the outskirts of Grindleford. This walk offers a mix of dramatic high edges and peaceful riverside trails, showcasing the diverse beauty of the Peak District.
