Setting off from the Seacliffe Road car park, this scenic circular walk climbs steadily up Deepdale Avenue to the summit of Oliver’s Mount, where a dramatic panoramic view unfolds across Scarborough. There will be a chance for refreshments here at Oliver's. After navigating a descent through the woods tracking alongside the famous motorcycle race circuit, the route heads coast-ward along Avenue Victoria, opening up into a fantastic vista of the sea. The walk then sweeps past the historic Crown Spa Hotel and descends to the Swiss Chalet, crossing the Spa Bridge beneath the towering silhouette of the Grand Hotel before weaving through the old town. There will be opportunity at this point for gelato at the tried and tested Bar Italiano. Passing the old Market Hall and climbing up to Anne Brontë’s grave. We will then turn left onto Blenheim Terrace and after a while cut to a seafront path along Marine Drive to the harbour front where there is the opportunity for free time plus minus a paddle in the sea. Tracing the promenade past the historic Spa buildings before a final climb up the cliff path returns you right back to the start.
