Coast Walk -Robin Hoods Bay
Description:
This walk takes us to one of our most popular locations each year, The Yorkshire Coast.
We start at the harbour in Whitby, taking in the sights and smells of this beautiful and historic seaside town, we make our way over the swing bridge, through the Old Town to ascend the 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey where we should get a lovely view of the town, the harbour, the cliffs and the beach.
We then join The Cleveland Way as we trace the coastline southwards and are rewarded with spectacular views of the cliffs and rugged coastline, this path involves numerous steps down into bays and inlets and the inevitable ascent back up again to the cliff tops.
We should arrive in Robin Hoods Bay around lunchtime and have the opportunity for a sandwich or fish & chips, a drink and a little sightseeing in this popular town.
Our return journey takes us on the old railway Cinder Track to Hawsker where our coach will be waiting for us.
