A Walk 01-Jun-2025 Leader: Alan Taylor
Distance (miles): 10.00   Ascent (feet): 1525  Difficulty: Moderate

Haworth

Description:

The walk starts with gentle inclines across Penistone Hill before dropping down to Leeshaw Reservoir. A long, sustained climb up Bodkin Lane and then to Stairs Lane, levels out, before turning across the moor on the Pennine Way. We will take a break near the ruined farmhouse of the Earnshaw family (Top Withins) before descending to our pub stop at The Old Silent Inn. Refreshed we then travel to Stanbury near Lower Laithe Reservoir before reaching the lower reaches of Penistone Hill to the car park. Hopefully there will be time to visit Haworth with all its visitor attractions, cafes and pubs etc before our return journey home.
