Monyash
Description:
Monyash (/muhn-ee-ash/munyash), is located between Bakewell and Longnor.
Our route today takes us to Taddington for our lunchtime break at the Queens Arms pub. We get there via Flagg and Chelmorton followed by a bit of a climb over to Sough Top, our highest point of the day at 1440ft.
In the afternoon we’ll head for Sheldon and the Magpie Mine before returning to Monyash, tired but exhilarated.
This is an interesting walk in this beautiful part of the Peak District. A fair bit of climbing and a lot of stiles are done over the day, it’s strongly advised that people use a walking pole if they can. We’ll get excellent views and a good work-out over the day.
