A Walk 16-Feb-2025 Leader: Peter Gravestock
Distance (miles): 10.00   Ascent (feet): 750  Difficulty: Moderate

Nettleton Laceby (N Lincs)

Description:

A very scenic walk from Nettleton and then following the Viking Way alongside Nettleton Beck (widely regarded as the prettiest part of the Viking Way) and past old ironstone workings towards Acre House. We then head east, passing close to Wolds Top, the highest point in Lincolnshire at 551 feet, to our pub stop, the Blacksmith's Arms in the village of Rothwell. The return is along tracks with excellent views all around. We should have time at the end for a second pub stop at the Salutation Inn. There may be a muddy stretch in the morning, but the paths are generally good throughout. There are no toilet facilities at the start or end of the walk, apart from the Salutation Inn.
