A Walk 04-Jan-2026 Leader: Peter Gravestock
Distance (miles): 11.00   Ascent (feet): 280  Difficulty: Leisurely

Barton on Humber

Description:

Starting at the Water's Edge Country Park, we take a walk around the lakes to the visitor centre. We'll be able to use the toilets before heading up to the river bank for our morning break. From here we head west, passing through the southern end of Far Ings Nature Reserve to South Ferriby for our lunch stop at the Nelthorpe Arms. After lunch we return along the bank of the Humber to our start point. Depending on time and weather conditions, we may take a slight detour through Far Ings nature reserve. Note: the visitor centre is open from 10am to 4pm (the cafe closes at 3.50). The intention is to complete the walk before it closes in order to make use of the facilities.
