Distance (miles): 8.00   Ascent (feet):   Difficulty: Easy

Baslow-Chatsworth Park-Calton Lees-Beeley-Rowsley- Bowl-ing Green Farm-Bakewell
The Splendours of Derbyshire (with Tarts)

Description:

We start our walk in the pretty village of Baslow . Entering the Chatsworth estate, we follow the River Derwent as it meanders along, passing Chatsworth House on our left hand side. Upon reaching Calton Lees we head into Beeley via Beeley Hilltop. This involves a short, moderate climb and we then make our way to Rowlsey for a lunch stop at the Grouse and Claret. After lunch we leave Rowsley and head in the direction of Haddon Hall. An easy climb along a track takes us to Bowling Green Farm which sits above Haddon Hall. From here we head to Bakewell via the River Wye and to the end of our walk. If you were still wondering about the tarts?, you’ll find them at the end of the walks,….where else - but in Bakewell!!!
