Welcome to the Doncaster Pathfinders Website. We are a locally based independent walking group, originally established in 1968 as part of the old National Coal Boards, Sports & Social Club.
Our Club is made up of welcoming, friendly folk from all walks of life and backgrounds and of all age groups but the one thing we all have in common is the love and enjoyment of our wonderful British countryside and everything it has to offer in health and wellbeing.
Our walks are on a regular monthly basis, as per an agreed Walks Programme, travelling to the walks by private transport which leaves Waterdale in Doncaster at either 08.00 or 08.30 hours on the published dates. We have two walks each month; a generally harder A-walk of around 11/13 miles (can sometimes be a little longer in summertime) and a more gentler B-walk of around 8/9.5 miles. We visit most areas of the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and the Yorkshire Coast, together with the Yorkshire Wolds and of course the ever popular Derbyshire Peak District which never fails to amaze people who have never seen the landscape on foot. All our walks are guided by an experienced walk leader, who will have usually done a recce of the walk in advance. We have coffee/tea stops and usually take a lunch stop in or near a suitable village pub/café.
We provide all our Members with a full itinerary of each month’s walks via email approximately two weeks prior to the walk date at which stage bookings can be made and which are essential.
If you would like to discuss or require further information about our Club or the walks we do, please see our contact page for details. We very much look forward to hearing from you.
