TICKNALL—MELBOURNE via Foremark Reservoir-Hartshorne-Sharp’s Bottom-Southwood-Calke Park– Visitor Centre Melbourne

Description:

Our walk today starts from the village of Ticknall located in the south Derbyshire countryside. First we head west on the National Forest Way to Hangman's Stone and then turn south to Bendalls Farm and on to the visitor centre at the Foremark Reservoir for a coffee stop. Following the paths along the edge of the reservoir to Carvers Rocks then heading for the village of Hartshorne and our lunch stop at The Bulls Head. After lunch we turn east to take the paths towards Sharps Bottom and Pistern Hill before turning north towards Southwood Farm and then into the grounds of Calke Park. We pass through the park to the edge of Staunton Harold Reservoir and finally the finish of our walk at the visitor centre close to the market town of Melbourne.
