Riplingham to Skidby, Walkingham and back to Skidby
Skidby Mill—Yorkshire Wolds

Description:

The A-walk starts from the village of Riplingham, following the High Hunsley Circuit to Skidby Mill, from there we pass by Gallows Hill (reputedly the site where sheep stealers were hanged at the time of Charles II) and drop down to a minor road. Here there is a display board with information about the ‘lost’ medieval village of Risby, the outline of which can be seen in the field opposite. From here we head to Walkington for our lunch stop,(three pubs to choose from but they will be busy, seeing as it’s “Mothers Day”). After lunch we return via Fishpond Wood and Folly Wood to Skidby
