Valley Gardens-Pine Woods-Harlow Carr-Beaver Dyke Reser-voirs-Norwood-Swinsty & Fewston Reservoirs-Blubberhouses

Most of our walk today is along the Harrogate Dales Way Link, a path which goes from Harrogate to Ilkley, to link with the main Dales Way route which runs from Ilkley to Windermere. We alight from the coach in the centre of HARROGATE, right outside the famous Betty’s café tearooms (this being an A walk we need to plod on with the walk), and walk through the Montpelier quarter, to then leave the town via the famous Valley Gardens, a lovely park. We then traverse a fine wood-land, Pine Woods, giving great views into the Dales as far as Buckden Pike, to then pass by the entrance of the famous RHS Harlow Carr gardens. Passing through an-other woodland, we take tracks via four farms to walk by Beaver Dyke reservoirs and along further paths to descend to our lunch stop. The SUN INN at Norwood is a large pub very popular with walkers, bikers, foodies and drinkers with a good se-lection of beers and food. After lunch we descend to and cross the dam of Swinsty reservoir which we walk along, before crossing the dam of Fewston reservoir. The final stretch of the walk involves walking along the banks of the Fewston reservoir to reach Blubberhouses at the end of the walk.
